Inaugural mission will demonstrate proprietary hardware, software, and multi-tenant hosting capabilities in low Earth orbit
ARLINGTON, VA — October 27, 2026 — Symphony Space, a deep-tech space infrastructure company, announced it has booked a launch slot for Prelude-01, its first orbital mission, for flight in Q2 2028. The launch is being managed by RIDE!, a launch mission management provider.
Prelude-01 marks Symphony Space's first light, the company's transition from ground development and validation to on-orbit operations. Once in low Earth orbit, the mission will demonstrate the core IP and multi-tenant payload hosting capabilities underpinning Adagio, Symphony Space's flagship modular autonomous spacecrafts delivering on-orbit operating capabilities to its customers. Operations will be orchestrated by Symphony Space's team from the ground.
Securing a launch slot establishes a firm date against which Symphony Space's hardware qualification, integration and ground segment readiness will now be paced. The company is advancing Prelude-01 through its build and test campaign.
“I am excited for what a successful demonstration will unlock for our customers. Capabilities needed across legacy and new space, to be able to operate rapidly and dynamically,” said Merry Walker, Co-Founder and CEO of Symphony Space.
